Joan Jett & The Blackhearts
So Tom and I heard that there was going to be a free concert at the Zucchini festival in Obetz, Ohio. We decided well we like her so let's go. Shawn, Tom, and I ended up going and I have to say that I think it was the best concert I've ever been to. She played for an hour and a half for FREE! Absolutely amazing lady. Now I'm on a serious Joan Jett kick and so is my husband and my little brother. I think they loved her as much as I did. AMAZING!! I bought her 2 disc greatest hits CD and I just checked out her movie The Runaways. I can't wait to watch it. Here's a pic we took from the concert.
Tom's mom's 70th Birthday Party
So here's what happened. A few months back I told Tom we should have a big surprise party for his mom because she was turning 70. He agreed so I reserved the room at York Steak House which is her favorite place to eat. I invited everyone to come and we had a good crowd. I'm not sure of how surprised she was but oh well. I think she really enjoyed the party anyway. The participants were, Tom and I, Mary and Joe, Nona mom's best friend, Billy, Margie, Wesley and Josh, Dad and Lisa and the boys, and Shawn. Bradley her grandson stopped by for a few minutes too with little Brad. The sad thing was her only missing daughter didn't come and I think she was a little disappointed about that. All in all I think her 70th Birthday was a good one.

You never know how something so small will affect someone in such a huge way
This morning I was at work and a lady came in. She looked at me and said "Do you remember me? You took me home a long time ago. I was really pregnant, and needed a ride." It was close to where i live so I agreed. I have never agreed to take a stranger somewhere but with her being so pregnant and it being as hot as it was, I agreed to help her. She was so appreciative and thankful. Fast forward to today, she still lives in the same place and as of that day probably six years ago she still lives in the same place and come to find out she was recovering from a crack addiction at that time I saw her and took her home. She asked to speak to my supervisor and told her how I had gone above and beyond even though I didn't have to. She started crying and telling us how she was in a really bad place in her life and greatly appreciated my kindness. She even told my supervisor that I need a raise. LOL! What an amazing effect you can have in people's lives without even knowing it. It was so great to see her and see how well everything turned out. I hope to see her more often.

So excited about a few things
Well, tonight Taylor Swift is doing a YouTube chat and I am going to watch...I love her. She's such an amazing, down to earth person who hasn't gotten caught up in all of her fame. I'll have to post how the YouTube thing goes.
On another note, Wednesday is Tom's mom Margaret's 70th Birthday and we are taking her to York Steakhouse for dinner. What she doesn't know is we are surprising her by having a party for her there with all of her family and friends. I hope she likes the surprise and isn't upset that we set her up. LOL. I'm sure she'll be happy but we'll just have to wait and see.

2012 Updates
So, again it's been a while since my last post. I really want to try to post daily even though my life's really not that interesting. I'm very blessed, but I'm not sure how many people want to know what I do daily. I am currently in school at Columbus State, and I still work for the library. It's been 10 years now. I love my job and the people I work with. The customers are pretty great too. My dad has had some health problems lately so I've been worried about him. My husband has been great like always, and I'm still so in love with my cat Teddy. This is all for today. Sad that I can't go to the car show because I work until 6 pm. Tom, Dad, my brother David, Lisa, and the boys all went. Oh well, next time then.
